Savage Rapids River Access, Seiad Valley, CA

Savage Rapids River Access is a free dispersed camping area offered by Klamath National Forest. It's located right at the Savage Rapids and is a popular launching point for kayaks and rafters. The camping area is a wide area off the side of CA-96. There is plenty of room for five or six full-sized RVs. There are no amenities aside from an information kiosk.

Portuguese Creek River Access, Seiad Valley, CA

Portuguese Creek River Access is a free, dispersed camping area offered by Klamath National Forest. It's a small area with a few sites just big enough for cars, vans, and pickup trucks. Trailers under 20 feet may be able to fit in. It's difficult to find because there are no signs marking this from CA-96. The map maker below notes where the entrance from the highway is.

Sluice Box River Access, Seiad Valley, CA

Sluice Box River Access offers free, dispersed camping within Klamath National Forest. There is enough room here for a few full-sized RVs, along with more room for several cars, vans, and pickup trucks. In addition to being a popular river access for kayaks and rafts, it's also an excellent site for watching birds and river otters. The Forest Service maintains a portable toilet during the summer months.

Blue Heron River Access, Hamburg, CA

Blue Heron River Access is a free, dispersed camping area and river access site offered by Klamath National Forest. Limited shade is available for a few dispersed campers. RV's and trailers are an easy fit. There are no facilities but an information board has current info on campfire permits and fire restrictions for the area.

Brown Bear River Access, Horse Creek, CA

Brown Bear River Access is a free, developed campground and river access site offered by Klamath National Forest. There are no defined campsites here, it's purely dispersed camping. There's perhaps room for four to six vehicles, depending on size. There are at least a few sites that can hold full-sized RVs.

Gottville River Access, Yreka, CA

Gottville River Access is a free, developed campground offered by Klamath National Forest. It's primarily used as a launch point for river rafters and kayakers. It's a small campground with room for only cars, vans, and pickup truck campers. Trailers and motorhomes will not fit here. Even at that, there's only room for a two or three vehicles tops.

Skeahan Bar River Access, Yreka, CA

Skeahan Bar River Access is a free, boondocking area offered by Klamath National Forest. It's primarily a launch point for river rafters and kayakers, but has a wide, flat area where dispersed camping is allowed. There are some picnic tables, but otherwise no marked campsites. Full sized RVs can easily fit into this camp.

Mt. Ashland Campground, Ashland, OR

Mt. Ashland Campground is a free, developed campground offered by Klamath National Forest. It's primarily used by hikers along the Pacific Crest Trail and as free alternative to ski lodging at Mt. Ashland Ski Area. There are nine campsites, suitable for small trailers and small motorhomes, but probably better off for vans and pickup truck campers.

Grider Creek Campground, Seiad Valley, CA

Grider Creek Campground is a free, developed campground offered by Klamath National Forest. With 10 secluded campsites for tents, small RV's and trailers, there are tables, fire rings and vault restrooms. Located along the Pacific Crest Trail, it's primarily a campground for hikers. Parking is also available for day use and horse trailers.

Beaver Creek Campground, Klamath River, CA

Beaver Creek Campground is a free, developed campground offered by Klamath National Forest. It's a small (8 sites) campground on the banks of Beaver Creek. There is vault restroom, picnic tables, and fire rings, but no water or trash cans. Campsites are small, suitable only for vans, pickup truck campers, tents, or small trailers. There is a small turnaround at the campground.
