Camping at Cowboy Camp

Located off of CA-16, within the Cache Creek Natural Area of California, Cowboy Camp lies next to Bear Creek, about 23 miles east of Clearlake, CA, and about 19 miles west of Williams. The area is known for grassy hills and oak trees.

Flies and ticks are seasonal problem at Cowboy Camp due to tall grasses and horseback riders. It’s a popular campground, particularly on weekends. During the summer, it gets hot here, often with temperatures above 100 degrees F, with few shade trees.
