Camping is allowed all along the Fort Sherman Dam Road as long as you don’t camp right next to the Water District buildings. As long as you camp off the road, you’re pretty much allowed to camp anywhere.

The Water District seems to have done a pretty good job of making the campgrounds look clean and pretty. Tall oak trees make for a shady camping experience with beautiful views of Lake Bob Sandlin.

When you set up camp here, Water District enforcement will stop and write you a permit that you have to keep on your vehicle. You can have as many people as you want camping with you as long as you take responsibility for their damages.
