Free Camping Near Joshua Tree National Park

Gold Park Road lies on BLM Land, just minutes away from the North Entrance to Joshua Tree NP. The road is sand and gravel, and well-packed in most places, but there areas of soft sand. This area is for 4WD vehicles only. Trailers are okay as long as they are under 20 feet in length, anything larger may prove difficult to pull out of soft sand. This area is often frequented by local off-road enthusiasts, so there may be noise at times.
