Camping at Rio de Los Pinos Campground

This campground is located along the north side of Rio de Los Pinos, not the south side as depicted in forest service maps.

Rio de Los Pinos Campground is stretched out over a mile and a half starting at the GPS coordinates above and heading west. There are officially four campsites, but realistically there are at least seven, perhaps as many as ten, until you reach the end of the forest boundary.

Most, if not all, of these sites are large enough for full-sized RVs along with additional chase vehicles.

The first campsite is marked by the GPS coordinates above. County Road 443 into this area is all hard-packed gravel, suitable for any 2WD vehicle. Once you reach the first campsite, the road becomes more rocky and narrow. A high clearance vehicle is recommended, though not necessarily required.

There is no turn around along the forest road aside from pulling into a site. The good news is that these campsites are rarely used, and you should have a problem finding a site.
