Free Camping at Grapevine Campground

The road leading up here, Highway 15, is all paved from Silver City on up. The road leading into the campground itself is firm-packed gravel, suitable for any vehicle.

The campsites here are generally of decent size. You could back-in a full-sized motorhome or fifth-wheel into a few of the previously-used sites. Because this campground is no longer an official Forest Service campground, fewer people tend to camp here than at Forks Campground, which is now the only “official” free campground located within range of Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument.

This is a great place for riverside camping if you want to spend a couple of weeks here and do some hiking and photography at nearby Gila Cliff Dwellings.
