Camping at Guffy Campground
Guffy Campground is open year-round. However, it is hike-in only from early/mid-November to late-April/early-May due to seasonal closures of Blue Ridge Road (Forest Service Road 3N06). The campground is located 6 miles from gate at Inspiration Point and Angeles Crest Highway (CA-2) and 3 miles from Blue Ridge Campground.
The road into the campground is a rough dirt road, though suitable for most vehicles. However, after the first 5 miles, four-wheel drive is required. Campsites are small, primarily intended for tent campers, though small trailers can still fit into most sites.
Guffy Campground is a great summer camping destination for its high elevation and plenitude of tall shade pines. It tends to get windy up here; if you plan to tent camp, bring heavy duty tent stakes. There are amazing views of the mountains. This campground also makes for a great base camp for day hikes along the San Gabriel Mountain range.
