Learn about camping and boondocking in Georgia

Boondocking in Georgia!

Boondocking in Georgia is largely focused on the state’s two national forests, the Chattahoochie National Forest and the Oconee National Forest. But there are still state wildlife management areas that accommodate free campgrounds, and there are many state and county lakes that will allow for free camping. Before setting up camp somewhere, be sure to review the state’s laws and regulations on camping.
